Earthquake in Russia: 6.6 magnitude temblor rocks Nikolskoye region
An earthquake measuring 6.6 magnitude jolted 235 km West-southwest of Nikolskoye, Russia on Sunday, the US Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 65.0 km, was initially determined to be at 53.995 degrees north latitude and 162.995 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported. There was no danger of a Pacific-wide tsunami from the quake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused the US of seeking to undermine Iran's banks. In a televised address marking Nowruz - the beginning of the Iranian new year - Mr Khamenei said the US was reneging on the West's nuclear deal with Iran. The US imposed sanctions on Iranian companies and individuals in response to ballistic missile tests carried out after international sanctions were lifted as part of the deal.

Russia earthquake: Strong tremor strikes off Kamchatka Peninsula
A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 has struck off the east coast of Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East, seismologists say. No tsunami warnings have been issued. The earthquake, which struck at 6:50 a.m. local time on Monday, was centered about 235 kilometers (146 miles) west-southwest of Nikol'skoye, or 318 kilometers (198 miles) northeast of Yelizovo, a town in Kamchatka Krai.
