The anonymous letter – printed out and full of spelling mistakes - said that “no mosque and none of your businesses will be safe” and threatened that “brothers [Muslims] will be slaughtered like pigs and crucified as our Lord converts their souls.”

Turkey-Russia jet downing: Moscow beefs up defences in Syria

COP21: Pope's adviser urges Catholics to join climate marches
The Pope's closest adviser on ecology has urged Catholics to join global climate marches planned for Sunday. In an internal letter to bishops, Cardinal Peter Turkson says people should be "encouraged" to exercise their "ecological citizenship". The letter says that climate negotiators meeting in Paris need to hear the voice of "God's people".  
Mali attack: Rocket kills three at UN base at Kidal
Three people have been killed in a rocket attack on a UN peacekeepers' base in northern Mali, the UN says. Two UN peacekeepers from Guinea and a civilian contractor were killed in the attack in Kidal, officials said. ...The UN mission - criticised by some at the time of its approval because there is no peace deal to support - has suffered more casualties than any other in recent years, with 56 troops killed.
